Nasim Karimi (they/them) is a second-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology M.A. program at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) on the LPCC pathway. They earned a B.A. in Psychology from CSUDH in 2021 and have five years of prior research experience. Currently, they work as a Research Assistant at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, supporting clinical staff and processing outcome measures. Nasim also engages in projects related to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) and focuses on cultivating resiliency for clinicians within the agency. Previously, they worked as a Behavioral Interventionist at Key Essentials to Behavior Management, assisting children and adolescents with autism and intellectual disabilities.

Nasim's research interests center on resiliency and enhancing evidence-based practices (EBP) within marginalized and LGBTQ+ communities. These interests stem from their personal experiences as a non-binary queer Iranian. They aim to implement and enhance the effectiveness of EBPs tailored for marginalized LGBTQ+ individuals, utilizing a social justice perspective and a focus on community care. After completing their M.A. and obtaining an LPCC, Nasim plans to apply to a Ph.D. program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, focusing on adolescents in marginalized and LGBTQ+ communities. Outside of academia, Nasim enjoys spending time with friends, playing classical guitar, learning fun facts, and playing video games.
